Welcome to the Foresight Youth Hub
In December 2009 Foresight launched the Youth Club for Disabled Children and their Family. The hub creation was due to a joint funding partnership from V and SITA Trust. The hub was officially opened by Dame Tanny Gray-Thompson held on 8th February.
What is the Hub?
Our hub offers children/youths with disabilities and learning difficulties a chance to interact with friends after school and become part of the large social group who regularly attend the Hub and Foresight’s holiday schemes.
What happens in the Hub?
The Hub boasts a wide variety of equipment and gaming entertainment. Youths can join in playing on the pool, air hockey or football tables and play on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. They can also join in with various activities like drawing and painting with one of our support workers. On Saturday’s children partake in various arts and craft sessions and Woodland Crafts session.
The Hub has an IT Suite with 10 computers with gaming and imaging software installed. The Hub also has its own Sound/Music Studio which enables youths to show off their creative flair for music and DJ-ing.
In the Hub we have a Manager, Support Workers and Volunteers working to make sure that all the children/youths are supervised and offered help in activities if needed.
Hub times and prices
There is a small charge of £1 per child per day/night to attend the Hub. The Hub now only runs on Saturdays from 10am-3pm. If you would like your child to join the Hub please ring Foresight on 01472 269666 or come in on one of the Hub nights/Saturdays and someone will be available to enrol them.
