One of our main sponsors is the v organisation. v are the national organisation for young volunteers between the ages of 16 -25 years of age. They provide disadvantaged young people and those who have
never considered volunteering previously with the chance to make a contribution. v’s projects engage young people who are under-represented in volunteering – such as those not in education, training, or employment and minority groups.
The v match fund provides grants that match up to 100% of private sector investment for youth volunteering projects within England. As such the Match Fund doubles this funding, assisting more charities to involve young volunteers in their work. Together with Foresight, young disabled people and young people currently not in education, employment or training are encouraged to access the volunteering opportunities that are available. Through participation in activities in our new Community Hub, holiday schemes and sports and recreation schemes, our volunteers will assist community members and develop new skills and abilities required to ensure that participation is a rich and rewarding experience. In return for this our young volunteers are recognized for the contribution that they are making to our organisation through the following awards:
Thank you certificate
This certificate can be issued to any young person who spends time volunteering within any v funded project. It is ideal
for one off taster sessions, but it can also be used for young people involved in longer-term volunteering opportunities, especially where they have opted not to undertake any other accreditation scheme.
v50 award
This certificate can be issued to any young person who has completed 50 hours of volunteering within any twelve month period, using the v Awards log book and folder.
v Impact Award
This is a progression route from the v50 award and will focus on the impact of the young person’s volunteering on their personal development, the organisation and the community. All funded organisations are kite marked to issue v Impact Awards.
