myguide has been designed to improve access to online services for individuals or groups who have previously been excluded or have found IT intimidating or hard to use. myguide is aimed at absolute beginners, it is supported by staff at Foresight who provide assistance and reassurance to make sure people’s first steps onto the internet are a positive experience.

myguide provides a user journey around which products, courses, services and assessment can be developed and also acts as a means for measuring individual progression. The user journey is also designed to be flexible so that individuals can develop routes through the user journey based on the individuals’ needs and aspirations.

The myguide system includes facilities for:

• Making online searches
• Sending and receiving email messages
• Viewing free online training courses
• Obtaining a Government Gateway login-id which you can use to access e-government services
• Creating and maintaining an individual customer profile
• All of these facilities are provided free to all users

myguide is a website which provides a simple, intuitive gateway to the internet. In order to support our users who may not find it easy to use a mouse, the myguide software has been designed to enable all tasks to be carried out using either a combination of mouse and keyboard or keyboard-only, if that is preferred. The myguide software also includes audio for those who have difficulty reading the screen. For users with a visual impairment, myguide provides facilities to adjust the text size and screen colours.

*NEW* Online Basics Course

Online basics is a new course bundle that will offer an easy first step for anyone wanting to get started with computers and the internet, making it even easier for learners to get to grips with the basics. The Online basics bundle includes the following myguide courses: Starting with a keyboard, Starting with a mouse, Using email, Using online searches and Using the internet safely.
