BOARD MEMBERS
All board members are re-elected on rotation however Foresight has an excellent reputation for retention of board members. If a vacancy arises or an individual has an express wish to become a trustee there is in place recruitment policy strictly adhered to by the recruitment sub committee. Their recommendations are made to the full board but individuals are only accepted if they will add value, skills and expertise to the present board. If expertise is required in a particular field the board have a procedure in place to co-opt individual’s short term to advise and assist on relevant matters.
JOHN CREMEN – CHAIR

Founder member of the organisation. Registered as blind with an extensive knowledge of the disability and services available. Has been involved with various organisations, representing the disability, for over 35 years. Recognised by public sector organisations as the leading voice for the disability in the area.
MIKE HORSFALL

Registered as blind. Has been with the organisation since being made redundant from his post in the private sector. Experienced in financial planning and development with skills gained through 20 years working in this role with a leading food processing company. Chair of the financial sub committee.
JOHN HEWSON

Volunteer IT tutor for the organisation. Qualified Health and Safety Officer who voluntarily takes responsibility for all health and safety issues around courses and activities. Ex production manager with a leading food processing company. Qualified to A.A.T level in accountancy.
PENNY JACKSON

Registered as blind. Ex school governor and self employed business woman who managed a successful chain of small fast food outlets. Experienced in publicising and promoting the organisation particularly through liaison with the local press. Represents the organisation on the Community Press editing team
ELIZABETH STEPHENSON

Registered as blind. Ex adult and community learning tutor and assessor. Highly knowledgeable and influential in the development of the learning programme. Represents the organisation and the disability on both the Primary Care Trust and Local Authority committees.
PAUL BRAY- FINANCE DIRECTOR

I am married with three grown up children, the youngest being 20 and serving in the Army. I am employed by Grimsby Institute of Further & Higher Education as a Financial Accountant; I am seconded to the E-Factor Enterprise (NEL) Ltd as the Accountant. The E-Factor is a 3 year project designed to help the unemployed in deprived areas of Grimsby, Cleethorpes and Immingham by giving them all the assistance to become self employed and get off benefits.
Previously to that I worked at Premier Training as an Accountancy Tutor, whilst there I gained my “A units” and “V units” enabling me to assess and verify Nova’s to level four. Prior to that I have had numerous Accountancy position based in Grimsby. I am AAT qualified and consider myself qualified by experience as I have been an Accountant for almost 20 years. I enjoy Football and I am a keen Grimsby Town Fan, I also enjoy swimming and going on foreign holidays.
RICHARD WENDAL-JONES

I joined Voluntary Action North East Lincolnshire (VANEL) as the Third Sector Partnership Contracts Manager in January 2008. VANEL develops, promotes, informs and supports the local voluntary and community sector. As Contracts Manager I manage and report on all contracts relating to the Third Sector Partnership (TSP) in North East Lincolnshire, especially our Community Economic Development contract with Yorkshire Forward. I aim to encourage and support Third Sector partners’ participation in the TSP work and work with agencies and organisations wishing to link to the TSP work programme.
Previously I worked for 9 years as a development manager and consultant supporting, advising and assisting the development of PE and School Sport with schools and education authorities across Yorkshire and East Midlands. Earlier I worked in North East Lincolnshire as a school support officer for two years, having taught as a primary teacher for the three years prior to that in North Yorkshire. Other varied jobs have included work in accountancy, forestry, property renovation and the North Sea drilling industry.
SUE OVER

I am a Super Intendant physiotherapist employed by NLAG, and work within the community disability team managing a physiotherapy service to adults with learning disabilities around the North East Lincs region.
As well as having over 25 years experience working in general hospitals and community settings I am a keen golfer and organise the county junior team for Lincolnshire girl’s golf.
I am married with two teenage children and live in Broughton.
ALAN BURLEY

A former North East Lincolnshire Councillor, experience working in the care sector, supporting young adults with both a lack of social skills and a wide range of learning disabilities, and for the last few years a role in community engagement and development in the East Marsh and other areas.
These are the skills, knowledge and experience I bring to Foresight as a trustee and I look forward to using these playing my part in the future
development of the organisation.
SIMON KING – CERT

Qualified adult education trainer with a background in delivering training to a variety of levels of ability in a variety of subjects. Have worked for the Community Economic Regeneration Team (CERT) for the last 6 years. In those years I have worked closely with Voluntary and Community sector organisations to develop their services and provisions.
My current role involves working closely with Social Enterprise organisations to provide training and support to allow them to be procurement ready. Took on the role of Trustee at Foresight in July 2008.
NICOLA MASSINGHAM

I work for the registered charity The Federation of Disability Sports Organisations as the Humber Disability Development Officer. This involves supporting the development of new and existing sport opportunities for the disabled throughout North East Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire, Hull & East Riding. I have a young daughter and live in Scunthorpe.
MANDY JOHNSON

I am the Chief Executive of Lincoln & Lindsey Blind Society (LLBS), having been employed initially as the Office Manager in January 2006, I took on the role in May 2008 following the retirement of the previous CEO.
Prior to my employment with LLBS I worked in social work, dealing with older people with various disabilities, especially mental health. In 2002 I decided to go back in to education and studied for my BA (Hons) Acountancy at Lincoln University. After obtaining my degree I briefly taught mathematics at one of my local secondary schools.
I have two daughters, one at University and one still in secondary education.
